Join us for an exclusive opportunity to hear from Tony Gwynn Jr., beloved San Diego sports figure, broadcaster, and former Major League Baseball player, at our monthly Kiwanis San Diego meeting at our new downtown location.

Tony, the son of Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn Sr., carved out his own impressive career in professional baseball, playing eight seasons in the MLB with teams including the Milwaukee Brewers, San Diego Padres, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Philadelphia Phillies. Known for his speed, defense, and deep understanding of the game, Tony has seamlessly transitioned from the field to the broadcast booth, where he serves as a radio broadcaster for the San Diego Padres and a respected voice in the baseball community.

Throughout his career, Tony has carried forward his father’s legacy of excellence, humility, and dedication to the San Diego community. His unique perspective as both a professional athlete and broadcaster offers valuable lessons on perseverance, leadership, and honoring one’s roots.

During this special session, Tony will share personal stories from his playing days, reflections on his father’s enduring impact, and his vision for the future of baseball and community in San Diego. This is a conversation you won’t want to miss.

We’re looking forward to an engaging and inspiring afternoon together!

    About Chief Robert Logan
A native San Diegan, Chief Logan grew up near Fire Station 12 in Lincoln Park, where his early admiration for first responders inspired a lifelong commitment to service. He began his career as an EMT in 1999 and joined San Diego Fire-Rescue the following year, serving in nearly every rank—including firefighter, captain, and deputy chief—before being appointed the city’s 19th Fire Chief. He holds degrees from Southern New Hampshire University and Columbia Southern University, along with Executive Chief Fire Officer certification. As only the third African American to hold this position in the department’s history, Chief Logan is dedicated to strengthening transparency, equity, and community collaboration across San Diego.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from one of San Diego’s most inspiring public safety leaders and connect with fellow Kiwanis members over lunch.
