The Kiwanis Club of San Diego provides community service to the city and county of San Diego through teams as follows with more details about the description of the committee and organizations we support. Community Service
Team Captain: Karen

This team helps serve the community by attending a variety of projects. Past events:

Clean-ups with I Love A Clean San Diego + San Diego River Park
Food Distribution with MAAC
Backpack giveaway with STARPAL
Serve dinner at Salvation Army, Monarch School, Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego

Meets 1st Thursday @ 12pm via Zoom

Community Impact Grants Team Captain: Karina + Brian

This team addresses the needs of the San Diego Community and Baja. We partner with organizations to help support specific projects that directly impact the youth in our community. Organizations submit proposals for grants and the team collectively reviews and decides on the yearly partners and programs. This group also presents checks to the partner organizations throughout the year.

Our grant process begins in the fall and decisions are made in January.

Scholarships

Team Captain: Brittany

This team works with the local universities at SDSU, USD, UCSD, PLNU, CSUSM and key clubs at SDHS High, St. Augustine, Academy of Our Lady of Peace and Coronado High to provide annual scholarships to support students in need. The team reviews the scholarship applicants. This group also arranges for an Annual Awards Ceremony hosted every Spring.

Programs/Speakers
Team Captain: Karina

This team helps select the programs and speakers for the recurring monthly meetings. The group seeks informative speakers that touch on timely topics and educational programs about San Diego and the community at large.

Meets 2nd Monday of each month @ 1:30pm via Zoom

Membership
Team Captains: Wendy

This team is focused on recruiting, retaining and recognizing members. They help strategize about membership recruitment, aid in matching members with mentors and award members annually.

Meets 2nd Tuesday of each month @ 8am via Zoom
