Community Impact Grants

The Kiwanis San Diego and San Diego Kiwanis Club Foundation are providing Community Impact Grants ranging from $5,000 to $50,000 for nonprofit organizations in the San Diego region with specific projects and programs focused on youth. 

Please review all grant requirements CAREFULLY and review the application fully before submitting. 

Grant Requirements:

  • Supports one specific project/program benefitting children and/or young adults to age 26
  • Preference will be given to applications whose recognition of Kiwanis San Diego will have a significant duration
  • Located in San Diego County or Northern Baja California
  • Will expend the entirety of the grant received within 12 months of receipt and to return any remaining unexpended funds to the Kiwanis Foundation within 60 days of 12-month deadline
  • Submit any questions to Info@KiwanisClubSanDiego.org by December 5.
    Questions received after December 5 may not receive a response prior to the application deadline

Grant funds can be used for:

  • Funds can be used to improve the organization’s ability to deliver on its activities and strengthen its management systems, operations, or infrastructure, including staff development or technology improvements.
  • Funds can be used for costs associated with a particular program or project, for planning, expanding, or iterating a program, including expenses such as supplies, materials, or salaries.
  • Capital expenditures - Funds can be used for specified building, furnishing, or equipment expenses necessary to maintain or upgrade the organization's facilities.
  • Specific operating expense items - Funds can be used for any specifically identified item(s) in the budget. Note that such grants are restricted grants, limited to the specified items.

Grants will not be provided and may not be used for:

  • Capital campaigns, fund drives, annual appeals, fundraising events
  • Endowments
  • Individuals or private foundations
  • Activities that are religious or political in nature
  • Debt reduction or operational deficits

Selection Schedule

  • Request for Proposal Released - November 4, 2025
  • Proposals Due - December 12, 2025 by 5:00 p.m.
  • Notice of Selection - March 3, 2026
