President Steve Morris rang the bell to open our January 16, 2024 meeting.

We recited the Pledge of Allegiance and welcomed guests including:

• Lori Sheets
• Dan Smiechowski

Carl Nettleton introduced our speaker 

from the Burnham Center for Community Advancement, Bill Ponder. 

We awarded Burton Ober the Youth Service Award for his work with the UCSD School of Medicine, as our Director of Student Affairs. Vice President Justin Frisco presented the award.

We celebrated January birthdays including:

January 16 - Mike Boland

January 19 - Drue Jordan

Our members were generous, as always, giving to Bill's Bucks. We celebrated:

• Mike Boland's birthday and years in the Club.
• Joe Sigurdson being in Giving Back Magazine and San Diego Business Journal.
• Jim Floros and the Green Bay Packers.
• Gordon Boerner who learned new members Karen and Greg Bowers' son just got a job in San Diego.
• Lauren Cook who enjoyed the speaker.
• Burton Ober who was grateful for all the Club does in the community.
• Wendy Reuben who was on KUSI to promote the Holiday Bowl.

Then we recapped past events including a successful service project with the Salvation Army, especially appreciated by their Captain and our member Jeremy Alexander.

And, we looked forward in the calendar to upcoming events, before Steve rang the bell to conclude the meeting.
